En savoir plus sur ClassDojo
Logiciel qui encourage le bon comportement en classe en attribuant des points pour la participation.
ClassDojo changed the way I run a classroom. I use it as a positive rewards system, to communicate with students and families, build community, and teach social/emotional learning and mindfulness.
The app once a student behaves negatively sometimes makes the student behave in an even worse way as that child knows others know how they have behaved.

Simple to integrate, powerful to use!
Commentaires : Positively rewarding and motivating students
Avantages :
Class Dojo is like a teacher's digital classroom management assistant! There's lots to love! - First, it's free. Who doesn't like free? - Next, it's extremely user-friendly. Within 15 minutes you can set-up and learn to navigate the features and layout. In just 5 more minutes, you can roll it out to your classroom. Teacher's are already lacking time, and the simplicity of this platform is wonderful. - It's versatile! You can use it systematically as an everyday part of your lesson - managing and tracking behavior and learning data or you can use it for a much less intensive purpose like tracking time, adding audio cues for your students, keeping a scoreboard during a game, etc. - Parents can link with their students to learn more. This creates a paperless communication system between the student and home. - They've recently added a digital portfolio piece for students. I'm still new and exploring, but this looks to be a powerful addition that students/teachers could use for creating and sharing assignments (reducing paper). It seems to also have built-in features (activities), too. Excited to learn more! - Last but not least, I suppose my favorite, yet simple, reason I love ClassDojo is that it just reminds me to be positive. I can focus on the positive I see in students and reward and reinforce their positive behavior.
Inconvénients :
This is not a con to ClassDojo, but just an observation - ClassDojo will not solve all of your classroom management issues. It is not a quick, easy fix, so don't view it that way. You have to carefully consider usage if you want this to be a main ingredient in your classroom. In that train of thought, it could cause students to act even more negatively because they're now able to gain a bigger audience and receive more attention. Once again, this is not a ClassDojo problem, I just want future users to be aware.
Communication and classroom management
Commentaires : ClassDojo has been such an easy and simple software to use. I truly don’t think I had a bad experience.
Avantages :
I feel like I love the ease and structure of messaging with parents. Do you have the option to post on a class story or send individual messages to parents that may be more important.
Inconvénients :
The only thing I would change about the software is allowing more points to be given then just five points at a time.
Class Dojo for the Win
Commentaires : I love it. I've been using it for kiddo to reinforce positive behaviors at home
Avantages :
I like that I can have other people added to account and use it for home
Inconvénients :
A lot of cool features are behind a paywall
Class Dojo
Commentaires : Handles multi children under one parental account. Easy to toggle to different students/teachers. Private message options.
Avantages :
Quick access to my childs teachers and notifications from the school.
Inconvénients :
Not many teachers keep class dojo updates. It can take a long time to get a response.
Great tool for teachers
Commentaires : Class dojo is a great tool for communication between schools and families. It can be broad to include the entire school in a message or narrowed down to specific classrooms or even individual families/students. You can include graphics and pictures with messages as well. Works well for my school.
Avantages :
It's an effective means of communication between schools and families
Inconvénients :
Getting families set up and going it's probably the hardest part about using it. Especially families that are resistant to using it
ClassDojo: a friend for teachers.
Commentaires : As I said, I can enhance the communication with parents, and also have a track of the conversations, agreements, or anything. It is great for me to share pictures and videos of what students work in class.
Avantages :
I like that it's great to maintain good communication with parents, I hope they can include more things to support instruction.
Inconvénients :
I think if they include some way to create polls or surveys, also some other ways to support instruction would be more usable.
Loyal ClassDojo User!
Commentaires : I love it!
Avantages :
I’ve used Class Dojo since 2015 and I don’t imagine getting rid of it anytime soon! It is basically my class Instagram page but is safe to protect my students. I use it everyday to communicate with parents, post class photos, and utilize for whole class management. Class Dojo also saved me when we transitioned to distance learning in 2020. Students used the portfolio feature to turn in classwork. I love this app!
Inconvénients :
I wish parents could sign up for events using class dojo. That would prevent me from going through sign up genius too create parent teacher conference signups. I also wish class dojo would offer rewards like class tag. I almost switched to class tag because of this but decided to keep class dojo.
Classroom on an app
Avantages :
It is very good to have a personal relationship with my child's teacher and to see my child's performance on a daily basis
Inconvénients :
I do not like that it does not allow you into the classroom unless the teacher approves you first
parent- Teacher
Commentaires : Overall, I'm really liking how easy it is to communicate with the teacher and see the progress of my child.
Avantages :
Every easy to communicate with my child teacher. See all the progress and changes to come.
Inconvénients :
Adds, If you like to modify it you would have to buy it.

Inconvénients :

ClassDojo is the Facebook of the Classroom
Commentaires : Overall, I enjoy this software very much. It’s improved communication for sure between myself and the parents of my students. It’s easy to use, easy to add new student(s), and easy to award good behavior with points and give visual consequences for poor behavior, which the parent can also see and track. I also appreciate that I can reach ClassDojo and all its perks on the computer, tablet, and even a smartphone. This program is wonderfully versatile and allows me to do much more than notes home and the occasional conference can do.
Avantages :
Oh there’s so much this software can do and so much GOOD it can do. I will focus, however, on my favorite amenities as that is the prompt for this section. First (and the most important for me) is that I can use this program as a personalized classroom Facebook. To clarify, I can message parents in real time about their child’s progress. I can send pictures and written updates of good work and proof of a flourishing student. I can also send evidence of a children who needs work focusing or is causing distractions. No longer do I need to send home notes that have a very high chance of getting buried at the bottom of backpacks or simply forgotten over the weekend. Instead, I can take a picture or copy the information and send it straight to the parent (though there is no real guarantee that it still won’t be forgotten over the weekend). This is especially important when reminding parents of upcoming conferences or IEPs. Better yet, the parent can reply right back to me. They can easily message me directly with questions. It’s also pretty handy with alerting parents that there is indeed homework or that a book still needs to read despite’s a child’s possible promise that they needn’t do anything after school.
Inconvénients :
I don’t actually have a con with the mechanics of the program or the amenities it provides, but one part my students may not be overly fond of is that if I want to show one student how many points they have earned or how many offenses they have made, there is no privacy feature, so that one student can see the points of all their classmates. It’s often too big of a secret to keep. A student with less points then their classmates may get a bit crestfallen at having fallen behind while the student far ahead of their peers gets distracted with gloating.
Great way to stay connected to your child's teacher
Commentaires : I am grateful for this software. It has been an amazing experience to be connected with my child and the person caring for him throughout the day. I can not praise the makers of this app enough! Sidenote.. you can use this on desktop as well. I can not always have access to my cell at work for security reasons so when I do not have my phone I use the desktop to check out messages and see what is new at school! :)
Avantages :
My older son's teacher used this software in the past but at the time my wife mainly used it to connect with the teacher and stay up to date on class information. My youngest son who is special needs just started Kindergarten. Having a special needs child go away from home for the first time was nerve wrecking. The teacher is using Class Dojo and it has really put my mid at ease. The Real time Talk feature is amazing. the teacher can send you a message that you will be notified of via the app or your email and you can respond back immediately. It is received like a text through the app so there is no time delay. She can tell me if he is having a good day or if he is struggling. If there is important class updates the information is on there so we are not hoping a small child manages to bring home a note. There is a free version but for the five or six bucks a month that the Plus version cost it is well worth it. The child can make their own portfolio and as a parent you can reward points for accomplishments. The teacher can upload photos and videos. You just feel like you are a major part of your child's day. There is a cute monster character that my son enjoys. It makes school more fun and he knows mom and dad are participating even if we are not physically there.
Inconvénients :
I have not complaints. I am using it daily as we started school here in Florida already for the 2021/2022 school year. I was able to figure out how to use it quickly and I am very pleased. Just this morning we realized my son left without a snack and we messaged the teacher on the app. She immediately responded not to worry that she had extra snacks in the classroom. Peace of mind is priceless although like I said the Plus version is very inexpensive anyway. The teacher did not require anyone to purchase Plus package. Some parents are using the free version. I recommend taking advantage of the extras that come with the paid subscription because there is just a lot of fun things for the kids on there. I just think of it as the cost of school supplies. It just enhances the classroom experience for the child as well as the teacher and family.
Great app for Parents, Nanny's, kids and Teachers!!!
Commentaires : My overall experience is great! I love the app because i get to see what my host kid is doing on a daily bases. It helps me keep track of all her homework she has to do especially on her remote school days.
Avantages :
It has features like showing us a child's progress at school, giving them chores and tells the parent if the child did good or not. It also provides information on what the teachers want the parents to be informed of on a daily bases. Parents are able to interact with the teachers as they post on a daily bases of what the kids are doing and I love that! I also appreciate being informed on the message app about any important information on a student fro example if the student had not completed a certain section of homework that they need to by its due date.
Inconvénients :
I cant really say that i have a least favorite thing to say about the app...other than its a great to to use, especially for parents and teachers to be able to communicate easily with one another. It would be great to add more languages onto the app as some parents or nanny's who use the app might not be so good at understanding English. It would be great to add a better rewards system for kids who cannot attend school on a specific day due to being ill or sick, and the child can catch up or do all activities that needed to be done on that day.
Great Source for Classroom Management
Commentaires : Overall, I like this program because it's customizable, it captures my students' attention, it allows me to reward my students and give them a consequence, and it's a way to communicate with parents. It's an all-in-one program/app. I like that I can also display it on my projector screen through my computer so that my students can listen for the "ding" of points/point removal and see their characters. I also like that parents receive notifications for specifics of what their child did well/poorly on behavior-wise. For example, if I set up one of my behavior categories to say, "Following Directions," and then take away points from a student, parents can see that that is a skill their child needs to work on behaviorally at school. I also like being able to set a class goal for the students to try for. (i.e.: When we reach 10,000 Class Dojo points, we can have a class pizza party.) Earning ClassDojo points is a huge student incentive.
Avantages :
The students like getting to customize their individual characters at home, and as a teacher, I like using this software on both my computer and phone (app) to provide discipline (both negative and positive). I can award students points, or take Dojo points away for bad behavior.
Inconvénients :
I wish I had to ability to add parents' numbers to the program (sign them up myself) like I can through the Remind software program.
Classroom Life Saver
Commentaires : Overall, kids love DoJo. It's easy, quick, and effective. It's a life saver with parent communication if connected, for tracking through the reports, and for quick feedback to the kids!
Avantages :
I love that Dojo creates 'monster' icons for each student to represent them. It's easy to give students 'points' for expected behaviors or behaviors that go above and beyond. I also enjoy that I can give a whole class a point for something. It's easy to take away points for unexpected behaviors as well. There is a great report that attaches to each students' day as well with what they earned or lost points for. Adding parapros, specials teachers, special education teachers, etc is easy and they can give and take points from a class as well. DoJo also can be connected to parents, so parents can keep track of their child's day, get a report, or communicate with the teacher! The points earned and taken away can be modified for specific target behaviors as well rather than a blanket one is all set up. Points can be managed through your computer or through the phone add as well for easy use!
Inconvénients :
I truly don't have anything I dislike about Dojo. It's easy, free, and quick to use! I have nothing to recommend for changes.
Positive Family-School Relationships/Communication
Commentaires : Class Dojo has been an important part of helping my school build positive relationships with our families. I love the ease of use, and appreciate how the complies always looking g to improve. They also have short videos that I show my class to help with Social Emotional Learning. Best of all, it’s FREE!!!
Avantages :
Class Dojo has been the easiest, fastest, and most positive way for teachers & admin to communicate with families. It’s easily accessible on everyone’s phone, messages can be sent back & forth, safely, students can create portfolios, send/receive assignments, & emergency notifications were easily & quickly sent to all, in seconds! Teachers are also able to send photos of student work, as well as award points for positive behaviors. Class Dojo is also easily accessible on a computer, if needed.
Inconvénients :
I would love to be able to add videos that have previously been recorded, but I’m sure that is coming soon.
Class Dojo
Commentaires : Very happy with this program. I am able to stay informed of school activities as well as chil’ren progress or needs.
Avantages :
Class Dojo allows me to stay up to date on school activities, assignments but most of all allows me to message my child’s teacher which is much faster than leaving a voicemail.
Inconvénients :
For whatever reason, I’m not alerted when I have a message from the teacher and will miss it unless I just happen to check it.
Easy to stay connected with parents
Commentaires : This is an engaging platform that listens to teachers and implements solutions to help technology address needs that teachers have had for years. Not only does it help break down barriers between parents and teachers so that both are on the same page about what is happening in the classroom. They have also added a toolkit with options like random student selector and group maker. These are not essential to the ClassDojo platform, but it adds great value to the teacher who have already spent the time uploading their class information into this system. There is a lot of software out there that is supposed to help teachers, but this is one of the most comprehensive software packages I've seen--and it's FREE!
Avantages :
Free! This is the best software to connect parents and teachers. Teachers already spend a lot of their own money on their classroom, so what's great about ClassDojo is their promise that ClassDojo will always stay free to teachers. It's easy to setup and can be customized for the individual teacher and class. Plus they continue to add awesome features.
Inconvénients :
When I first started using this software I was teaching overseas where English was not the first language. Allow the icons were very useful, it would have been helpful to have more customization of the behavior icons and students icons so that my students would have better understood when I added points to their character (all the girls wanted pink in their character but there was only so many pink characters). ClassDojo has added the ability to upload your own character but as a teacher I wouldn't have had time to upload the characters needed for my 7 different classes of 15-20 students.
Son's teacher told me to download
Avantages :
While meeting my son's teacher she informed of this app. I was told it was a form of communication between she and I and to see what they do during the day while in class. I went through the app and there was not much to it, I could see pictures of daily class duties. I could leave a comment on posts and could see an alert when another parent liked or added a comment to the same post. I would leave rep messages when my phone was off or to change my son's transportation home from bus to car or vice versa. This function was helpful as long as she was in class or near her phone. One time I left her a message and she didn't check it and respond until two days later. I could see his daily progress, whether his color changed for bad behavior.
Inconvénients :
I had no problems with the app's functions. I wish it had mini games or some sort of activities for the kids to complete, but it was OK. It served up to its purpose, which was a way to see what your child does during class and communicate with the teacher.
ClassDojo In the Classroom
Commentaires : The best part of Dojo is parent communication. It also is a great resource for classroom management and tracking behavior. I let my students earn rewards by earning Dojo points. There are also tools for making groups, playing music, posting morning messages, and a timer. It really provides most tools you need during the day in one spot.
Avantages :
The best feature about this program is communication. Parents are more likely to respond to messages electronically over answering phone calls from a teacher. I am able to see when parents have read messages and have seen important updates and information. I love that Dojo will also translate different languages for myself and the parents. School translators are not always available, and this makes it easy to still be in contact.
Inconvénients :
One thing I feel like could be improved is if the school story and class story were in the same place. Sometimes I think parents miss important information from our administration because they only are looking at my class story, and not the school story.
Nice communication tool between teachers and parents
Commentaires : Overall experience is very good. It's an effective communication tool so parents can stay up to dates on children's school lives and conversations with teachers. During "distance learning" time, it is even more important than ever for teachers to reach parents or we may lose track of zoom meetings and homeworks.
Avantages :
It's an easy to use tool for parents and students. My kids' schools have been using ClassDojo since they were in preschool. Simple enough for kids to understand the reward concept and make them care more when a negative is given. For a busy working parent who has been reading tons of emails already, getting quick and direct updates of our kids from ClassDojo is greatly appreciated.
Inconvénients :
It was a bit of a hassle when my school graduated from previous school. There was no way I could stop receiving news from old school although I removed the school from profile. Ended up had to contact customer service few times to get that resolved. Not too big of a deal but could have made it an easier process.
Easy to use program even with a free membership
Commentaires : I like using it to communicate with parents (privately or as a whole group) and to share photos and videos of what we are doing in the classroom each week on the Class Story. The students love to play Dojo Island, which is a game they can play on their own chrome books, while interacting with their classmates within the game.
Avantages :
I have used Class Dojo for many years and it keeps improving with time. I use it to track my students' behavior and communicate with parents. It allows my students to monitor their own points in order to be able to redeem points to shop at our class store. I also love the randomizer button to call on students and the ability to create groups.
Inconvénients :
I like all the features of the most recent version of Class Dojo.
Class Dojo makes teacher communication easy, efficient and secure
Commentaires : Overall, my experience with Class Dojo has been excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone who's school system utilizes it, as it makes communication with busy teachers seamless and trackable. I also appreciate being able to look back at pictures, records, and past communication, all in one place. Teachers have used this platform to communicate class announcements, requests and updates; as a parent, I have used it to send individual messages to teachers and to keep up with grades. Class Dojo makes it easy to be in the loop.
Avantages :
Class Dojo is a versatile platform that makes communication from teachers to parents and caregivers easy and efficient. As a parent user, I love Class Dojo for the quick updates I see from teachers throughout the day or week, as they frequently post pictures of what is happening in the classroom. Only those with an access code can see the updates. Teachers can easily communicate with the whole cohort of parents, as well as individually with parents; I receive opted to receive updates every time grades are entered (notifications can be turned off), and there is also a way to send and receive individual messages with any of the student's teachers. If there are multiple children in the family, all of their reports, teachers, pictures and classes can be listed under one account. Class Dojo is a one-stop shop for a parent or caregiver who wants to keep up with what is happening with their student.
Inconvénients :
Honestly, I haven't found anything lacking for my purposes with this app.
Excellent software, use is controversial?
Commentaires : My son's teacher (kindergarten) uses Dojo daily. To the point I wonder/worry about the amount of time she spends on her phone while she should be teaching. It is her main form of communication so sometimes important info is missed because it is mixed in with a ton of bull crap I get tired of sifting through. It has become time consuming. My daughter's teacher (2nd grade) rarely uses it only posting important reminders and photos of more important events. I like that because I get the info I need and feel like she is still accessible if I needed anything.
Avantages :
ClassDojo the software/App itself is excellent. Never had an issue with it working like it should. It's a great communication tool for connecting parents with teachers, counselors, and others that are involved in your children's daily life. Makes you feel involved and makes teachers accessible. It's great to see pictures and videos of what your children are doing.
Inconvénients :
The cost of ClassDojo Beyond which gives you the ability to bring the rewards system home seems extremely high for what you get. I see the value in continuity but not at $8.99 a month, when I can use another free app with many more features. It also seems that parents who do not have internet access could easily miss out on important information from teachers who use Dojo as their main form of communication.
ClassDojo is Nice but Can be a Bit Hard to Navigate
Commentaires : I have been a user of ClassDojo as a parent of a child in elementary and middle school. I loved being able to contact her teachers both privately and in a post on the class feed and be responded to quickly. I also liked the reminders for things like Theme Days and Spirit Week. Getting pics of the kids in the middle of the day was always a source of joy for me.On the con side, the app is a little clunky and can be difficult to navigate. I am fairly tech-savvy and have used a lot of team/communication apps in my day and I find that this is common. It's usually because these types of apps offer a lot of features and can be a little too much sometimes. Overall, I was glad to have ClassDojo as a resource and was a bit let down when my kiddo switched schools and they just use email. It felt like a step back. The small issues with ClassDojo are easy fixes, like the difficulty I found in selecting my avatar or finding older chats.
Avantages :
At the moment updates about my child or her class. Able to receive private messages and general sort of newsfeed updates as well as pics. Helpful reminders.
Inconvénients :
It can a bit difficult to navigate on the mobile version. Had difficulty setting up an avatar, for example.
