Beware of toast pos

1,0 il y a 6 mois

Avantages :

It was supposed ti be easy. It is not for a small business. Be ready to be a full tech ex0ert with zero help.

Inconvénients :

I gave a rep a low review. They took me off my account and I could not access my own business for more than 20 hours. I was on the phone for 34 minutes and not one person could figure out how to reinstate my account. But you better know they still charged my account even though I had zero access. This was live during my business hours. Toast admitted it was their own employee who did this. I'm going to keep posting this for every small business owner to see. We cannot allow these tech companies this power.

Solid When it Works

3,0 il y a 4 mois

Commentaires : I've used it in a few different kitchens to manage the menu and track sales. It works well for FoH, and is the bane of Chefs and Cooks alike. When it works, it's a digital alternative to paper tickets. Most people I know still prefer paper.

Avantages :

On the fly menu changes were accessible, the UI was fairly intuitive.

Inconvénients :

We always dread seeing an update. The product's stability is inconsistent.

Very Robust and Versatile POS w/ minor hiccups and One NO NO Add-On Feature

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : I'm now pretty savvy w/ Toast POS after 6 mo of use.

Avantages :

Robust and Versatile POS for full service restaurant. Perfect for full service restaurant. it does have some minor hiccups. Probably the best POS on the market. Integrates well w/ Open Table. Good support w/ little wait time most time.

Inconvénients :

Toast offers many useful integration except One major NO NO Add-on is Toast Payroll - it's a disaster. totally user unfriendly. clumsy, many non-sense system questions that cause confusion, lack of even the simplest and most basic yet required reporting. Even it's nice to have the time cards get carried over automatically, you would be better off using 3rd party time management and payroll app.

Worst Customer Service

1,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Horrible. Now I have to cancel Toast from all my restaurants and start with a new company. Not happy. All because they will not get anything accomplished for you if you are being overcharged, to online ordering isn't working correctly, to menu manager not functioning properly. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE even though the functionality appears to be great. Not worth the hassle.

Avantages :

I did like the functionality but the service is so bad, it does not matter how good the software is.

Inconvénients :

Customer service, Toast adding billable products and never taking them off because you cannot get a hold of customer service.

Have Some Toast With Your Brunch. Or Lunch.

5,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : With over fifteen years of customer service experience covering all types of industries imaginable, the Toast POS software stands out when regraded by it's ease of integration, system set-up and navigation, customization and guest interaction interface. High marks all around and a resounding cheers to Toast's user friendly design.

Avantages :

Simple and easy to integrate into my workplace's numerous departments, Toast POS offers a user friendly platform to build an inventory into with the option to edit the information therein whenever required, even in real time when alterations are needed to complete a guest's order. Toast POS has a sharp and clean visual design that utilizes an equally well developed workplace layout sure to please no matter what industry you're part of.

Inconvénients :

A small setback I've noticed is the required input of a guest's name or information to initiate the 'tap to pay' option. There is a button to 'skip' this input, however if guest recall is pertinent to completing an order then the name or number attached to the order is required. I would like to see the guest's digital pay pad screen offer the ability to input a name or number if only to make interactions conclude in a quicker, more proficient manner.

Toast for High-End Restaurant that is part of a Hotel/Banquet/Spa Resport

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Positive, for both POS and Payroll. While we have had a few hiccups, I have been impressed with Customer Service and Tech Support in most instances

Avantages :

Self-Install was a little bit complicated but Toast Support was very helpful. The interface is very intuitive and overall simple to follow and teach. Some financial reports don;t show exactly what we'd like, but Toast Support is helping us create custom reports for everything we need.

Inconvénients :

Setting up the menu and revenue centers, especially chaging the revenue centers has been less simple than I'd like.

Toast POS has been a nightmare

3,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : I was excited, but knew i made a huge mistake the day we went live, they ran out the door as soon as we were hooked up with zero training, and it only got worse which is why i'm here.I have a 39 Year old restaurant with a pretty large menu, it wasn't easy to make the switch, but i did, and regret it.

Avantages :

The handheld device is nice, but i only ordered one, when i tried to send a second one back they told me to keep it, but still charged me for 2 ($100.00) month.

Inconvénients :

I was mislead by their sales team, it never felt right but i was sold on the 3rd party integration, once i found out they don't integrate, it took a month to find out the truth, but was still billed for things i didn't receive or use, even things like Caller ID (common 101 stuff with so called older POS companies) i understand they discontinued, but they still charged me for it, and refused to refund without a fight.Bottom line, this has been the single worst decision iv'e made as a small business owner, and it's not over yet, i'm still fighting to learn new system, a system i wish i never moved forward with. do your research, it's not always greener on the other side.If you're a huge company with multiple locations then Toast might work for you, you would also need to have a very small menu with very few modifiers for it to work and be worth it, but honestly after the huge expense monthly plus CC processing is it really worth it?

Horrendous customer service.

4,0 il y a 12 mois

Commentaires : The product was good enough until we experienced an issue that needed support and this is where they dropped the ball entirely. I would not recommend this product for anybody that needs reliable support.

Avantages :

The app works well and it's fairly easy to use, although they forced an update recently that made the system worse.

Inconvénients :

We use toast at our Food Truck in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. We tried integrating doordash into toast and when we visited the shop on Toast it was locked and we were unable to add the integration. After reaching out to our onboarding contact [sensitive content hidden] who was unable to resolve the issue and directed us to Customer Care. After contacting customer care they gave us the runaround yet again ultimately telling us it was not a billing hold but a hold placed by the onboarding team. This hold has persisted now for 5 days with 0 resolution or support from Toast, they have dropped the ball completely on us. We expressed we had an advertisement running for several days that we spent money on to promote that we were on doordash and that money has now been wasted, not to mention the potential sales we have lost. Toast's support has been horrendous. If I knew this was going to be the case we would have never gone with toast.

Commentaires : Honestly I’m tired of talking to customer service agent who are rude and knows nothing about the system so they give you the run around

Avantages :

Nothing nothing at all, they lie to get me on board now I’m unhappy every day wonder what’s the next disappointment with them

Inconvénients :

The customer service agent, pay as you go QR code, tell you use receipts for charge back, receipt don’t need to be signed so it becomes irrelevant

Toast is essential for Restaurants

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Great POS system for our restaurant, staff loves it and so does management.

Avantages :

The best thing about Toast is the ease of use. Menu screens are easy to read and navigate and quickly enter orders. Back end is easy to manage.

Inconvénients :

The customer service when you call in for issues is not great. I had 2 credit card readers down and it took over 2 hours and 2 phone calls to convince support that they were indeed bad. Lots of testing when finally I demanded replacement readers for mine which were still under warranty and they finally gave in. Too much time for that small issue.

Recent user interface changes

5,0 l’année dernière

Commentaires : Until the recent update, I had a great experience with toast. This update should have been focus grouped by the people who interact with it on a regular basis. Making changes like this only cuts into the ability of a business to make money. Your job as a technology company is to make making money easier not more difficult.

Avantages :

The Toast version prior to the latest change was excellent on the front end. Very intuitive and organized. The problem I have is why would you change the entire functionality that made your company take the industry by storm? It seems irresponsible and disrespectful to make drastic changes without actual input from the companies you serve.

Inconvénients :

Could be easier to adjust backend edits. The user interface update did not improve the customer experience. It was not an improvement from the former version.

Online Order Fee

4,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : It was a great service - all do it yourself - which kept implementation costs down. Not easy for complicated food items, so takes time and effort. The new add cost to customers is wrong on all levels, so we are forced to reevaluate.

Avantages :

Easy to train and use.Good reporting.Integrated timecard/payrollConnected to caller ID

Inconvénients :

They are charging OUR customers .99 per order for "online processing". We pay all their fees monthly and do not receive any benefit from this additional cost to OUR customers. This adds complaints from customers (justified), cuts into tips, and is a poor business practice that we can't opt out of. We didn't know they would/could do this to OUR customers. Need to shop around for new POS.

TOAT POS Review

4,0 il y a 2 ans

Avantages :

Toast is a light weight tablet pos system that is fairly easy to implement and support. Its a smaller less encumbered system than Aloha POS which we used previously. That said its not as full featured when it come to multi location management as Aloha POS.

Inconvénients :

The support on Toast is the largest issue we had. Each time you have an issue you have to start with square one at support. They dont offer account reps or any such services even with the initial roll out.

Toast POS

4,0 il y a 2 ans

Commentaires : A truly simple and effective system, the credit processing aspect is where I have the most concerns, but like taxes, it's unavoidable to a certain degree, but it's well documented that PROCESSING is a racket, where companies can, will, and do take advantage of unknowing, business operators who just simply don't have the time to research and find the best, most fair processing fees. I was not involved with the selection of this system, but operators get hosed regularly by processing fees, so do your due diligence because this is money which should be going into your account and back into your business

Avantages :

Toast is a cloud based POS system. It is easy to use, pretty intuitive. It doesn't come with the baggage of the traditional old school proprietary systems. I've worked in restaurants for 30 years, and have worked with all sorts of POS systems. This one is pretty straight forward.

Inconvénients :

It would be nice to have an ON screen list of 86 items, so you can ensure buttons are reactivated in a timely manner. Also, we recently had a charge back due to someone using someone elses credit card through the online ordering platform. This is where a guest literally orders and pays from their computer or mobile device, so WE at the store level have absolutely no interaction with the guest. I just simply do not understand how the charge back for that fraud comes out of OUR pocket, when it was the POS that approved and allowed the transaction. This seems highly unfair. Every dollar counts. This was a big order too like $200. Might not seem like much, but when you're fighting and scraping to maximize your profits, it hurts.
