Also, I had some issues when using Piwik in terms of impact on loading and data retention (disk usage was growing exponentially when one of my website ramped up). > > Overall speaking, if I were looking for an alternative to Google Analytics, this would be my first choice. But if you rely heavily, like myself, on Google's tools, you might find easier just to use Google Analytics. When bot/AI traffic began polluting our data and inflating action counts beyond our tier, support acknowledged abnormal bot volume—but the guidance was mostly “segment it,” “read the docs,” and “mitigate at your CDN/WAF.” Meanwhile, the commercial response treated those bot-inflated numbers as grounds for tier upgrades and additional invoices. Between frequent handoffs/turnover and long gaps in proactive communication, it became an expensive tool we had to manage almost entirely ourselves. > > If you’re expecting an enterprise analytics partner, this was disappointing. The product is fine; the experience around it felt upsell-first and support-light when the situation got complex. We’re migrating away.
