Representing large companies, some of whom are billion dollar public entities, with trademark filings in over 100 countries worldwide, it is always essential for us to maintain accurate records in order for us to not only provide 5-star service to our clients but to be able to compete on a high level with all those behemoth law firms that are always interested in representing our clients. Not only has FlexTrac been a pleasure to work with all of these years in terms of pricing and tech support but the database output from their software in terms of trademark reports that we provide to our clients are much more user-friendly and readable than the outputs of the $100,000+ trademark database software programs that the big firms all seem to use. We originally started using FlexTrac because of the relatively low licensing fees but now you couldn’t get us to switch even if one of the big software developers offered us their $100,000 software for free. This is especially true since we started using the Cloud-based FlexTrac software about 2 years ago. Our internal concerns of backups, losing data or crashing servers disappeared at that point. Each of our clients have very specific reporting specifications and with the program we can create new fields for reporting. For example, one client requests specific tracking numbers to be included in the email subject lines, and with the program we were able to do that by creating a new field to be filled when generating a template. Also one of our clients requests reminders more months in advanced than what is already programmed, and we have been able to create a rule to send the reminders earlier using the Reminder Rules. > > **Inconvénients**: For foreign applications, I wish there deadlines for filing a response were pre-programmed in for more common countries. I noticed that they are in there for Canada, but would appreciate Europe as well. That said, the program is flexible enough where we can input the deadlines regardless. > > We are using FlexTrac to generate letters to our client, to docket our deadlines, and generate our responses to the USPTO. For Example, the change in how a user logs into the USPTO system, also affected how Flex Trac Scraped with the USPTO system. Flex Trac updated their system to work with the USPTO system, which allowed their system to scrape with the USPTO system. Whenever, I have a question on how to docket a particular case, the customer service is always willing to help walk me through any issue. For Example, I typed the wrong case number, and needed to correct the number. The customer service walked me through on how to change the number. > > **Inconvénients**: The Scrape part of FlexTrac tends to give us problems, but this is not necessary a problem with FlexTrac.
