Commentaires : I can state with confidence that e-Builder Enterprise has changed the game for my business based on my overall experiences with it. I use e-Builder Enterprise as a project manager to optimize and declutter our project management procedures. I can use the program with ease and get the information I need thanks to its user-friendly design and intuitive layout. The platform's extensive capabilities, including budget monitoring, document management, and change order management, have significantly increased our project execution efficiency and accuracy. It has been quite convenient for me to use the mobile app to access and manage projects from anywhere, especially while I'm out in the field. When I've had any problems, e-Builder Enterprise's customer service has also been outstanding, with quick replies and beneficial advice. Overall, e-Builder Enterprise has completely changed how we handle project management, and I heartily endorse it to any business in need of a complete and dependable project management solution.

Avantages :

My favorite aspect of using e-Builder Enterprise is its extensive and potent collection of project management options. I like being able to track and manage every facet of a project from a single, centralized platform as a user. I can precisely monitor project spending and guarantee financial transparency thanks to the software's strong budget monitoring and task pricing features. The ability to access information and manage projects while on the road makes the mobile access function stand out as well. The platform has excellent document management capabilities that offer a safe and orderly method to store and exchange project-related data.

Inconvénients :

The difficulty of the user interface and navigation was the aspect of e-Builder Enterprise that I liked the least. It was difficult for me as a user to find certain features and rapidly get the data I required. To improve user experience and shorten the learning curve for new users, the platform may need a more simple-to-use UI.

Commentaires : I personally am e-Builder certified and have been utilizing e-Builder since PSU’s procurement and implementation.

Avantages :

Easy fo get up to speed as an admin. Consistent project data. Easy to maintain and. improve processes.

Inconvénients :

The submittal module is clunky. Which we had a try BIM module again. Lack of communication regarding system issues.

It was great 10 years ago, but it's not keeping up with technology

Commentaires : Looking to enhance team based collaboration; Teams and Slack - like features still don't exist in the platform, and if there are integrations, we haven't heard of them. Support on broken software is uncoordinated, and excruciatingly slow. Benefits were ones we realized a decade ago. pretty much staying the course at this point. It's too bad.

Avantages :

Highly customizable; easy to query data, schedule module, forecasting and cashflow tools are good.

Inconvénients :

You have to customize EVERYTHING; no commonly used forms like AGC or AIA; cost sheet is always live; can't look at the period close-data; schedule module is not fully integrated with the rest of the software; reporting has always been too cumbersome; support is slow. You have to monitor for basic functionality at least after each release; no channel based communication tools like Slack; no embedded electronic signature capabilities; they've jumped on the revenue bandwagon for adding on needed subscriptions for basic functionality, while not keeping up with where the industry has moved, particularly during the pandemic. I mean the Owner-based construction management industry, not general construction. They seem to have lost focus on this software.

Overall Review

Commentaires : We are able to archive all of our documents and speed up our processes with this software. I has really helped with our reporting to our clients and providing as-built information to them.

Avantages :

The software is user friendly, and has a great file structure for ease of use. You can tailor the processes to fit your organization and their processes, which is fantastic. Training is easy to provide to non users.

Inconvénients :

Sometimes the uploading of documents is too slow.

Commentaires : Great support staff and they always either know the answer to your question or get it quickly and get back to you the same day

e-Builder is great for project management from start to finish

Commentaires : e-Builder is beneficial to companies doing project management, design management, contract management, budgeting and document storage.

Avantages :

I like the document management and contract management functions.

Inconvénients :

I don't think it is user friendly to the degree that, in order to one thing done, you have to apply it in many different areas of the software. If you skip one application, it is void.

Used to hate it, now I tolerate it

Avantages :

+Extremely customisable. This is construction management software that you can tailor to fit the needs of your project. I've used e-Builder for three (3) different higher education institutions and each University is able to tailor e-Builder to fit the project's needs. +Notifications. E-Builder will email you a notification when you have a RFI to respond to, when you have a submittal to review, when you've been copied on a RFI response, etc. This is very helpful and allows you to notify multiple individuals at once through the software. It also keeps a record. +Documentation. E-Builder is meant to store documentation and it does excel in this. I've used e-Builder to access submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, etc. on long term projects (24-36 month construction) when sometimes the documentation was uploaded years back. E-Builder does not put a time limit on an upload, so you can always access it.

Inconvénients :

-Training is definitely required to use e-Builder. It can be confusing with different terminologies used such as "forms", "processes", etc. I just need to find submittals and RFIs but can easily get lost. Without training, it is easy to hate e-Builder, just like I did in the beginning. -Cost - this is not a cheap software and licenses can be costly.

Commentaires : My overall experience has gone well. Though we have had several client managers, the transitions have gone well and follow up to concerns typically are addressed in a timely fashion.

Avantages :

I enjoy the fact that it has allowed my organization to evaluate our workflows and streamline things. Creating and editing workflows in e-Builder has been simple to do.

Inconvénients :

I would like to see the Start step of a process have the ability to change based upon the initiator’s role within e-Builder.

Commentaires : I learn new things every day, and eB becomes more and more useful the more I learn and find new ways to do things.

Avantages :

I love the workflows in e-Builder. It cuts down on paper, the time it takes to get docs routed for signatures, allows for tracking and provides transparency.

Inconvénients :

e-Builder is not intuitive to set up. Without someone with experience it is hard to make configuration decisions during implementation.

Commentaires : As an administrator I and my team have done more than was done during implementation. It is a reasonably intuitive system and we are getting things where they need to be

Avantages :

Compiling all project data in one place as a one source of truth

Inconvénients :

The implementation was very long with extended periods where both sides were unproductive and we were not given any initial product training so we could effectively engage with the implementation team

e-Builder

Commentaires : Overall e-Builder experience is great, starting at their support desk; which by far is one of the best I have worked with. Many knowledgeable folks on the other end of the phone. Many have been promoted to Business Analysts, which says a lot for the company as a whole. I have worked with some Business Analysts on school district specific needs and have been very pleased with our outcome. Also our account Rep has always been in touch to make sure that we are getting what we need and I also get monthly reports from our success manager letting us know how we are looking statistically. All support form e-Builder is greatly appreciated.
Through my 5 years with e-Builder I have been able to complete my e-Builder certification and attend many very intuitive webinars which enhance my position. Always learning something new. I also have met some very great people at other organizations that use e-Builder and together we are able to collaborate how we use the software.

Avantages :

I was hired to re-implement the e-Builder software. It requires an understanding of the data and the fields that need to be populated; and why you are populating those fields. Integration is an integral part of a successful implementation and it is very important to have all players that know about data included in initial discussions. e-Builder is easy to use and they have many tutorials in their community portal that showcase each module with examples of how it can and should be used. The reporting module is easy enough for all users to use and enhanced reporting with BI is available for those that have a bit more knowledge of report layout.

Inconvénients :

Searching for documents across all projects could be enhanced. Systems created on global custom fields always means there can never be out of the box standardizations, so a lot of time is spent re-inventing processes or forms that should be standard to all. Working in contacts and user setups could also be enhanced. The mobile module needs enhancing on Androids.

An organized site for all team members to contribute and stay informed of all updates

Commentaires : It has provided us with tremendous flexibility in project management, and we have avoided many of the pitfalls that we were previously prone to. We have also simplified many unnecessary procedures, which has had a positive impact on all project management processes and saved us a significant amount of time and effort.

Avantages :

e-Builder Enterprise's effective management of all papers, reports and project members' communications on the cloud allows all team members and stakeholders to stay updated and informed of the project's progress. Having all project management tools in one place streamlines procedures and saves time, as most difficulties are resolved quickly. I like how e-Builder Enterprise reports include all project management activities and display the overall business status of the project, completion percentages, financial elements, and much more. I like how e-Builder Enterprise functions as a database for all project submissions, allowing you to simply access or track them. We can use e-Builder Enterprise to organize submissions, requests for information, meeting minutes, and much more, allowing us to work more efficiently as a team.

Inconvénients :

The fact that it is connected to the cloud and has a fantastic user interface, I don't believe there are any negative aspects or technical issues. It all depends on the work team and how well they collaborate in order to take full advantage of all of the fantastic tools available in e-Builder Enterprise.

A great project management package for design and construction.

Commentaires : Standardization and automation of processes, document capture and management.

Avantages :

Three features in particular have made my job easier. First, processes are standardized and automated. There is no longer any guesswork as to how something was done, where the paperwork is, or who is holding up holding things up. Second, everything is documented as a byproduct of working through a process. Emails, internally generated documents, contracts, changes orders, submittals, etc. are captured and stored for easy reference. Third, no more paper. We have eliminated scores of filing cabinets, including those storing record documents from previous projects, and everything is now available digitally where ever I go.

Inconvénients :

Design reviews are frustrating. They require everyone on the distribution list to reply before the process can proceed. In our organization there are some individuals who need to be included in the design review but often do not respond. We typically have an administrator override and terminate the process. I wish there was an option to automatically close the process at the due date.

Great program to replace an old outdated system

Commentaires : Great, we have streamlined our old outdated paper processes and allow things to run much smoother and quicker. Our Construction Managers can now manage many more contracts due to the increased efficiencies.

Avantages :

The ability to customize and design e-Builder to work within your organization. E-Builder has proven to be a useful tool to replace our old paper systems with new customized processes.

Inconvénients :

The existing submittals process is very clunky and needs to be optimized. The e-Builder app is basically useless for what we do.

E-builder is an expensive file organization software but has good PO tracking

Commentaires : There are tons of other project management software tools out there - I would not recommend this one.

Avantages :

PO tracking abilities are good and the overall user interface is fairly straightforward. E--builder is not quite ready for prime time - we have submitted ideas to them for incorporation so the users have to make the product better. Who has the money/time to give a company ideas so that we can get charged for licensing while they benefit?

Inconvénients :

So many to list. The pricing is horrible for all of the software's limitations. As my title suggests, it is basically a very expensive file organizer. The scheduling platform is awkward, importing files into the file structures is not straightforward, image editing that you want to do and share with your users is very limited and I find that edit images outside of E-builder first and then import them, you cannot record all of your correspondence created within the software (i.e. a full copy of what you sent out to another user), the side layout menu and the top tab organization is not intuitive and you can get completely of one project and into another without realizing it, etc. I would write more but I have to finish making pdfs of files that I need to import into E-builder because I cannot create them within E-builder.

Powerful Software -

Commentaires : I do appreciate the support team, i've been on that side of software before. Thanks for all the work you guys do. Also, thanks to the other teams at e-Builder that make all the magic happen behind the scenes.

Avantages :

Customization of independent processes allow multiple departments to interact within the same workflows. Version control on documents module always keeps document organized and easily accessible. The use of reporting to extract the data needed is always a plus. The future expansion of the APIs is going to make this software even more powerful!

Inconvénients :

Some high priority bugs still take to long to get resolved. Replication of certain bugs limit the eb development team to fix issues in a timely manner. --- Some items cannot sit in a process or whatnot, waiting for the eB dev team to look into the issue. Some things have to move at the speed of payments.

e-Builder Review

Commentaires : Underwhelming and some modules (i.e. Submittal) are overly complicated and time consuming

Avantages :

The ability to keep project information all in one place for all team members to have access to and interact with.

Inconvénients :

Changes are made by e-Builder developers who then update the client e-Builder platform and the updates "break" previously functioning aspects of the system (i.e. ability to upload files with comments to the submittal review process). Then when the issue is submitted to e-Builder for correction it is ultimately ignored and left unresolved. (Note: this issue has been on-going for more than 30 calendar days with no resolution in sight)

Senior Project Manager (EB Admin)

Commentaires : This system has been very helpful with locating where forms, invoices, contractor pay apps, task orders, and etc are in the process. In addition, identifying where the bottlenecks are and allowing us to quickly address them to either remodify the workflow or provide additional training/support to staff within the process. Great reporting tool as well for urgent requests by upper or executive level management.

Avantages :

System is user friendly, nice to track what is sitting in peoples "current step", report wizard is nice to help generate ad hoc reports, and cost summary hold people accountable to how much is budgeted for their project.

Inconvénients :

Show more video demonstration on different BI reports and Dashboards. Have standard dashboards step up from EB. Do a workshop on how to setup a BI Dashboard and see if others in EB community can share theirs. Other simple video demos on Import Tools (i.e., project imports, etc) More improvement on Planning Module. Many of the features and functions see to be tedious or extra clicking or difficult to run cash flow by month. Video demo on Scheduling module and setting up a schedule for a project and running a cash flow. Then run a nice dashboard to show the project with cash flow curves and project details.

My most interactive aspect is filling out Report Forms

Avantages :

My Agency is involved in the construction of a number of projects for the State of Georgia; e-Builder provides a platform whereby many points of information, data, etc. pertaining to these projects are available within a click or two of my mouse.

Inconvénients :

My main interaction with e-Builder is the filling out of work progress forms; in the beginning, there were a few very frustrating shortcomings in the form process; after contacts with your IT department, most have been corrected; the chief of these was how easy it was to lose data that you had just entered in the forms; a current nuisance [that I'm sure has always existed] is the inability to "Tab" from some parts of the form to adjacent parts.

Ebuilder Evaluation

Commentaires : As the eB Admin, initial training and design of the system were crucial to our success launch. I was given the proper tools to fully understand the functionality of the software. We crafted a well thought out, detailed approach to what our implementation would include. This approach did not overwhelm staff for training/adoption. By keeping it simple and streamline in the first year, staff gained the knowledge and confidence necessary for buy in of a new system. Now in the second year of use, we are fully understanding how all data from various modules relate to one another, giving a fully integrated, dynamic project management approach to our projects.

Avantages :

The communication tools available for all project participants. This transparency gives all participants a better control of real time reporting and management.

Inconvénients :

Some of the modules still feeling a little cumbersome- Scheduling seems a little tedious to set up, and make revisions.

Over Complex product

Commentaires : A great project management tool

Avantages :

Many uses across the project management field. Numerous projects with numerous users can access all the same stored information at the same time. Sending RFI, Submittals, transmittals, meetings, reports etc and then sending & placing the requisite information in the other users court - its fantastic.

Inconvénients :

Very limited in customization (which could be down to the way the project was set up) and tedious amount of clicking to get through to where you need to, and then having to start again when go on to next task rather than just going to next item (report, submittal, photo etc)

Software had many glitches, and though this is the 4th revision, by now it should be remedied.

Commentaires : To process submittals and RFI's in a timely manner along with submission of reports.

Avantages :

Submittal process is great until you try and change a comment, system doesn't allow a coordinator to change or delete a comment that he or she may have placed. Bummer. Reports are clean and easy to configure with excel.

Inconvénients :

See above comments regarding my issues and or concerns.. If the issue with comments can be cleaned up it would help a lot. Also when a revision is created I had an instance where the submittal could not be returned to the subcontractor who issued it. Related tried and couldn't provide a solution.

e-Builder is a great tool that helps our organization effectively manage our Capital projects system-wide.

Avantages :

I like how e-Builder has a cost management, program schedule capability, and structured workflow processes that allow our users to control their projects from start-to-finish. The new implementation features that will be rolled out in the coming months will also be a valuable asset to our future growth with e-Builder that we are excited to be a part of.

Inconvénients :

Some of the more advanced features of e-Builder (BI, reporting, dashboards, etc.) require a higher level of sophistication that is sometimes difficult for our organization to "bridge the gap" when it comes to effectively utilizing these features. If some of the background coding was done by e-Builder in lieu of our forces, this would be more helpful for us specifically.

We are able to manage all of our projects in an efficient and well-organized manner.

Commentaires : Simple organization of our materials. Relative ease with finding projects and documents. The ability to allow access to many users for efficient collaboration.

Avantages :

The structuring has saved us a lot of time and effort. Addition of information has been an easy process, and the security of knowing these materials are stored here and not to be tampered with has been relieving.

Inconvénients :

Not having a visual representation of the material takes a lot of guessing when opening files. Also, when creating larger reports, the program has a tendency to crash. More built-in reporting capabilities would be much appreciated.
