Critically, this affects donors — not just direct customers — meaning third-party individuals who trusted the platform's clients are also exposed. SMS is an unencrypted channel, and displaying unmasked card data violates PCI-DSS compliance standards.

The platform collects and handles financial data from donors on behalf of its clients — yet fails to protect that data at a basic level. Any platform handling third-party payment data is obligated to follow PCI-DSS standards.
