Allows MS-Access to see the data as linked tables from which you can then use make table import queries to pull data from salesforce. > > **Inconvénients**: For me, it is best to copy data into access by using make table queries using the ODBC-SF data as the source table, then write your custom access queries going against that imported data. Writing complex access queries that run against salesforce ODBC connections directly can result in errors and run a long time. We have over 40,000 contacts in salesforce. > > I use access to create custom spreadsheets from salesforce data. I found that by creating an access DB with ODBC links to salesforce, I could create a set of queries that first pulled data from SF. Then use complex access queries against that local data -- conveniently saving the queries for reuse. I haven't run into any issues with using up my salesforce API call quota by using this method.
