As far as I know, it is the only tool I know that allows us to convert mass printouts from various platforms (particularly iSeries), workbooks, etc., into beautiful forms, then e-mail/distribute with ease. Some amount of setup is involved to parse and map fields, design overlays, and set preferences for distribution methods. Being able to select fonts, add barcodes, logos, rearrange the data, etc., gives us the flexibility to add a professional finish to all our documents. > > **Inconvénients**: Needs a bit of babysitting on occasion, when the server is clogged, but for the most part, runs seamlessly behind the scenes. We did have issues trying to "locate" the overlays when our network crashed and didn't have access to the Compleo suite. They aren't stored anywhere in a format that is accessible to other packages. We ended up having to draw them in Powerpoint and Excel and generate manual documents. > > We utilize Compleo for much of our EDI, Shipping, Purchasing, and Invoicing documents. It is super reliable, and provides seamless integration with our systems. Once set up is complete, there isn't much to do except kick the server if something hiccups in the network. Compleo waits for document events to occur, grabs and formats them as instructed, distributes them (to the right person every time), and files the original away - basically saves an entire FTE\! We have a number of queues that do various things from sending an e-mail with a text, saving a PDF, etc. > > **Inconvénients**: The older versions were a lot easier to maintain. The requirement for a Windows license server as compared to installing the license on the AS/400 has greatly complicated the configuration and has made it less reliable. > > When we've had issues, often time very basic things, like using an authenticated SMTP server to send the mail, is met with "You need to buy this expensive product in order to do that." However, there is no good way to see or figure out what it does or how to make it do what you want it to. The first time I called support, they told me I would have to pay for services. > > **Inconvénients**: User friendliness is non existent. There is no help text. > > I walked into a business that had it up and running. It took me a very long time to figure out how it worked and how to make it do what I wanted. I had to basically bang on it until I got the result I was looking for. Called support and they said I would have to pay for services. After that, I did get help from support a few times. A descent manual or help text or support that would walk you through the scenario you are trying to conquer would be fantastic and make me love the software more.
