It can also be used in a more restrictive way since the viewer can be customized with only the tools you need. We use this as the secure viewer for an online document library. By customizing the viewer we restrict printing and download access and force the documents to be rendered using streaming files. This prevents the documents from arriving on end user hard drives in any usable format, but allows the documents to be viewed in the browser window with 100% fidelity. I began using it about a year ago to turn static PDFs into magazine and book like “flipbook” experiences, an upgrade that improves readability, preserves visual fidelity, and makes complex reference material feel more approachable. After a year of use, FlowPaper satisfactorily meets one of my primary objectives: producing engaging, page-forward content that looks and navigates like a designed publication rather than a scanned document. > > **Inconvénients**: I would, however, welcome additional features that feel intuitively interactive within the flipbook itself that is beyond outbound hotlinks that take readers away from the experience. The editing experience is also uneven. While FlowPaper does include an “edit” capability, in my workflow it does not deliver the same level of functional control as dedicated PDF editors such as Adobe Acrobat Pro. The closest thing to an effective editing workflow is the ability to replace a page (or pages), which works well as a practical “patch” mechanism when content changes without requiring a full rebuild. From a usability perspective, the documentation and onboarding are noticeably sparse. The instructions are brief, and the “how-to” guidance for using each feature, especially for creating richer page interactions or animations that is limited. Feature availability also appears to vary depending on whether you use a Zine or Plus Zine plan. In practice, outside of an organization with a dedicated budget, many of the more creative and capability-enhancing tools feel relatively basic. > > Will I continue using FlowPaper? Yes. It reliably converts large PDFs into a manageable, shareable link and delivers a workflow that is straightforward and low-friction. I also value the cloud-based approach: as long as my account remains active, I maintain continuity and control over my published content. If FlowPaper expanded its in-flipbook guidance, improved creative tools, and clarified the conversion outputs left on local storage, it would feel not only functional, but genuinely empowering, like a production-ready publishing platform, rather than a primarily conversion-oriented flipbook viewer. Finally, one recurring technical question is the presence of leftover files on my computer after conversion, more specifically files such as pdf\_40.jpg and pdf\_40.webp. I understand that image assets may be generated during conversion for rendering and optimization, but the role these files play (and why they persist on disk) is unclear to me.
