At the time I purchased it, there were very few alternatives available. It solved a problem that many Mac users faced when they needed access to Windows applications without purchasing a separate PC. > > **Inconvénients**: The software was often unstable and resource-intensive. Crashes, performance issues, and compatibility problems were common throughout my experience. It frequently felt like a workaround rather than a polished solution. My opinion of the company declined further when I recently discovered that my subscription had been auto-renewing despite not actively using the software for several years. I contacted support immediately after noticing the charge and requested a refund of the most recent renewal only. While they canceled future renewals, they refused to refund the charge and would not make any exception despite my long customer history and immediate request. > > I used Parallels Desktop for more than six years because I needed to run Articulate Storyline on a Mac. While it technically solved that problem, it was never a product I enjoyed using. Performance was inconsistent, crashes were common, and the experience often felt outdated compared to modern software standards. The only reason I continued using it was because there were limited alternatives for running certain Windows applications on macOS. Today, I would strongly encourage potential buyers to evaluate whether they still need Parallels at all, as many workflows now have cloud-based or native Mac alternatives. My final experience with the company was disappointing. After discovering a renewal charge on an account I had not actively used in years, I contacted support immediately and requested a refund of that renewal. The request was denied with no flexibility or consideration of the circumstances.
